I just tried to serve with an eastern backhand grip today...
My kick serves were really good especially when I tried to hit the ball closer to the apex.
I'm having trouble hitting falt with this grip, any suggestions?do you have to get the toss further out in front (further than with continental?)?
    Thanks

The toss: regardless of the grip, the toss for the kick serve is slightly behind and slightly to the left of your head as if the ball is landing on your left ear!

Many Pros would use Eastern BH grip for the second serve (to get more spin), and continental for the first serve (to get more power and spin). I would suggest you use continental for the first serve, and Eastern BH grip for the second!

Thanks for the advice guys, but I am having no problem with the kick serves, just flat. Maybe i'll stick to continental for flat serves...
