Maria is a tall woman this is true but being an actress is more than just how you look. Maria can still have a career in Hollywood she's young enough to certainly consider it and try if she is serious about it. There are tons of actresses in Hollywood with solid careers who are not considered beautiful or are considered not to have the right look. Look at Gabourey Sibide, the girl from the movie Precious people said she would never make it in Hollywood because of her weight but she's consistently working. So, if Maria wants to become an actress I definitely think she has a chance she has the connections in Hollywood to make it happen. And honestly, that's the first hurdle, it is hard to break into Hollywood without connections. Of course, there are talented people who prove otherwise but if you got connections you are a step ahead of the competition and Maria's got that. Maria is good friends with the actress Camille Belle so she's already got a good friend who is a working actress. Next, Maria's agent probably has connections with the powerful Hollywood agencies which means she probably can get auditions. And just getting auditions for Hollywood films or television is not easy. I can see Maria on 90210 or one of those CW shows for sure like Gossip Girl although that show is ending I think sometime next year.

None of those players (including master imitator Djoko) would make good actors. They're entertainers in their field and they're good at it but professional acting is something else altogether and it is not as easy as general audiences seem to assume. It is not easy at all to do it well. It's a skill and it takes years of hard work to perfect it. (to illustrate my point, look at how dorky all those athletes look when acting in commercials).

But what about Rick Fox? Rick Fox the former husband of Vanessa Williams is a good actor and he's consistently working in Hollywood. So it is possible for an athlete to move on from professional sports and transition into Hollywood. People don't even think of Rick Fox as athlete these days they seem him as a good actor so it can be done.

Not saying it can't be done but it's extremely rare and I can't see any of the current tennis stars making a successful transition. Katarina Witt (figure skater) tried it and she learned the hard way that being a popular athlete doesn't necessarily guarantee success in the movie business.

Few months later - still no Sharapova movie.

LOL, wow, you have got to be La Vivid Muffin from Brain Types. Same highly discursive and abstract writing style, and the same knowledge of Niednagel's typings of athletes, although you're using the old Myers-Briggs acronyms instead of the ones he prefers to use now.

LOL John Cena is a dreadful actor. He's bad enough in the WWE, let alone a movie.

The Rock however, is box-office and still making films this day.

Why is it that the top male players seem more focused on history, legacy, records, cementing their place in the game of tennis, while the top women players seem more interested in ways to show off their looks, acting, modeling, being celebrities, being on the red carpet etc. Back in the day players like Navratilova and Graff seemed to be more competitive and interested in the sport than in their own celebrity. What changed? Seems to me like a major regression for women’s tennis.

Of course, this depends who you ask, but I would agree. However, the kicker here is that both Rock and Cena have tons more screen presence than Sharapova from what I can tell regardless of how you feel about either one.

There is a difference between a great/good actress and just any actress.

Talent, hard work and a bit of luck can make you the former.

Connections can make you the latter (and it usually will not last).

I take her words as a mixture of a caprice of a spoiled multimillionaire and a hunger for more $$$.
