I don't think too many players cared about Kournikova's racquet. She probably did more for apparel than racquets.

    Two words - no way.

I just think the different playing characteristics of a Head frame will totally throw off her game. I, too, am willing to bet it's an old racquet that she used or a custom Prince

So it's not a retail youtek anymore based on the butcap? You think it is a radical mold still of some sort? I couldn't cound the string pattern, is it 16x19?

It is my opinion that she is using the YT Radical Pro.

I was posting the same... It looks like 100'' and the beam is similar to Radical Pro.

Similar with Youteks, especially on the head of the frame, with iconic white Teflon grommets. The throat looks like a radical. I would say the same answer, a YT Radical Pro.

And admit that there is something 'wrong' with her current stick? I can see why they wouldn't

My thought exactly. That's what lawyers are for.

That's true too. Sharapova and others on the WTA play so infrequently that the companies lose the best advertising - fans watching matches. Paying Jankovic 1/4 what they pay Blondie and having her play 2x the number of tournaments is a better investment.

Why doesn't Jankovic have a P stenciled on her racquets?

Because she didn't tell her stringer to put one on her.

Don't read too much into things.

Isn't she paid by Prince to have the stencil on it?

Nope. She has been playing without an actually paying contract for over a year I think.
Remember when Davydenko said "They gave all the money to Sharapova"? It was true.

She was shopping around for a new racquet contract for a while, but she's still playing with the Prince. Not sure of the details, but I don't believe she's under contract with Prince any longer...but don't quote me on that...

My previous post was in reference to Jankovic, not Sharapova.

I'm in agreement that Sharapova is testing a Head racquet currently.

It's no problem...I see how you could have read that to believe I was talking about Sharapova. I just wanted to make sure I didn't look like an idiot! :)

    Sharapova gets Head?!

birmingham proved it..I saw her Head prototype and even funnier a new black string from babolat...it didn't help her win the final...so it will be interesting what she does with strings and racket in next few months...is she gambling Prince will want to make her another racket, and why is she buying RPM Blast??

I can't believe this string would suit her game....

Maria should stay away from polys. Shoulder surgery and a recent wrist injury and poly is not a good mix.
