I've been wearing Barricades for ages now, and was wondering what other options were. I had two 2.5-hour matches this weekend within 45 minutes of eachother, and I experienced the toe-jamming of the Barricades that everyone was talking about. A fractured toe and lost toenail later, I'm looking for new answers.

I've been looking into it, and I figure the main 6 criteria are: Durability, Comfort, Ankle Support, Traction, Ventilation, and Weight. In order of importance, my preferences are Durability, Traction, Comfort, Weight, Ankle Support, and finally Ventilation.

I put durability high because of my toe-dragging habit on my serve. While greatly improved, I still wear through the toe of Barricades in under 3 months.

That said, I've looked into the Nike Vapor 9 Tours, and also the Asics GR4. If anyone has any advice on others, I'd love to hear it.

B(e)ar. 6/7, CB 3.3/4.3, and Propulse 2/3, Lotto Rap are heavy duty shoes.
Vapors and GR are match-day only shoes since they wear out fast ,but are very light.

Which model of Bears. are you using?

Its seem these might be new shoe or the Barr.7 haven't fully broken in for you. Use a wooden shoe tree or pack dense paper to create more room in the toe box for a few days. A better sport insole might help so go to a sporting goods store to try on various types for free.
