This is mainly for Laviesak but it applies to other sensors as well.

Since Sony just announced that their sensors are compatible with several Yonex racquets I was wondering if the sensor has to be calibrated for each racquet or not. I'm assuming that the calibration would have to be for the different head shapes and maybe racquet length. If moving sensor from one racquet to another would it need to be re-calibrated?

    Racket Calibration

Hey Dimcorner - sorry for the late response.

Great question and one we definitely thought about. We don't plan on having any calibration from the device itself, but rather by asking the user to input racket/string data into his/her profile. For example, a user has the option to input the racket/string used, with the ability to override racket specifications, in the case of a customized racket.

In the case where the device moves from one racket to another, the user would have to switch profiles to sync the right racket/strings with the attached device.

This all being said, if the user doesn't want the extra precision, he/she doesn't have to input any equipment data, metrics will be calculated from default equipment settings.

Hope this clears things up. Let me know if you have any other questions/feedback. Also, feel free to email me directly at
