Hi I was just wondering im 13 and i hit the ball hard enough and play well enough to be top 10 in the state. I use an aeropro drive plus with a vs overgrip and babolat head tape on the top. Every1 talks bout hitting with 12 oz. + rakets but i hit jus fine without any lead but i would really like to try but u know wat they say "dont fix it if its not broken"

well if you think you can handle the weight go for it... however deff. do not put it on your main racket, if you have an extra racket that you don't use that much then slap some lead on until it weighs what you would put on apdp. If you can take it you you think that it will help your game the go all out. in the 60's and 70's little kids played with 14+oz. rackets so... your decision.

Nah just stick with the Aeropro Drive Plus. Just like you said, don' fix it if it's not broken.

Anyone believes they are the Top 10 in state. Be modest, and play with what you're using now, until you feel the need to add weight, because at your age, it's much more demanding on your arm.

Maybe when you're older and stronger add some more weight to the racquet.

when you add the weight with the overgrip and the tape on top how much about would the raket weigh like around 11.6 ounces saying that it is starting out at 11.3 ounces?

How are you Top 10 in State w/ no volley?

Do yourself a favor... no lead until you develop a bit. Talk with your coach or local pro.

How is every new member on TT always a top junior, top ten in state, future pro prodigy, etc?

i must sound like a broken record, unless your playing with a gypsy rose, it doesn't matter which racket you use

when you added the head tape, you pretty much added enough weight to push it to 12 oz

What does your racquet weigh now with everything on it? The overgrip, 2 layers of head tape and a dampener can add .5 to .7 oz. to the racquet.

Based on the TW specs, your racquet should already be a bit over 12.0 oz. I bet your swingweight is too high for your size. With the extras and especially the head tape... I bet the swignweight on your racquet is around 365 and the balance is close to even.

Typically, volleying racquets are 10 pts. headlight, or so. I think of an extended racquet as more of a hard serving, baseline stick.

Put yourself on a court with a hitting partner and practice, there is no magic cure for a weakness.
