Should I Quit?

I'm currently a junior at my highschool playing tennis. I want to get better and i'm really close to playing singles, so I want to play year round. The problem is that I have done cross country for the past two years and the team is like a family for me. But training for cross country takes all summer and fall, and I can't play tennis and run because that would absolutely destroy my knees. Additionally, if i do cross country this year I can put it on my transcript and that would look good. What i'm asking is what should I do? Should i quit and work on my tennis game all year? Or run and get worse at tennis during the year? need your opinions.

It all depends whats most important to you.
Being able to put XC on your transcript is a huge bonus, i'd say stick with your strengths and that seems to be XC.

Though if you are really swayed by tennis there may be some way to do both. You could do drills that minimize movement and maximize technique, so your strokes would improve without taking a significant toll on your legs.

Ultimately its up to you, but the transcripting of XC sounds more promising. You can still play tennis, maybe you won't be playing singles but you still get to play :)

honestly, depends which you are better at? do you want to get a tennis scholarship or a cross country scholarship when you go to college? which do you love more? see from your given info, i would say do cross country, you've done it longer and its a 'family'. tennis can be played once or twice a week on weekends or so. you can get better there.

Do both. I did both in high school and it was fine. Granted I was the other way around and was mainly tennis and did cross country towards the tail end of high school so was never too good at it.

Quit cc and stick to tennis. Your body would thank you if it could.

I don't know about that one Rickson. From personal experience, all my injuries have pretty much come from tennis. Also, doing cross country got me into amazing shape.
