Should you stretch before playing?

Is stretching before and/ or after playing a good idea? I get mixed messages from sports literature on stretching. If good idea, what stretches?

Before or After, but, stretch warm, not cold.

    IMO, after is better.

Always before and after. Dynamic stretching before playing and static stretching afterwards.

In the classic sense of "stretching", NO you do not stretch before playing. Stretching after is super-highly important. I heard 'dynamic stretching' on TC and it is just another buzz bs word. Stretching is static by definition. Before play you should certainly warm up but warm up is nothing like stretching.

Sorry to hear that you don't know the difference between dynamic and static stretching.
