I sometimes get some shoulder pain when i serve. I typically dont get arm pain with ground strokes, but i'm wondering whether its simply a technique issue thats causing it

    any advice?

I used to have a problem with shoulder pain when my service contact point was too far back. I no longer have the problem after I adjusted to hit more into the court. More power and less strain.

    it's most likely technique...

Well kinda stealing from tennisone here but it works..

Make sure that your front shoulder is up and your back shoulder is low when you serve in your trophy position - and when you serve of course reverse that (that should come automatically though).

Anyway editor guy says that this will remove the "impingement" on your shoulder. I find it does help. Also I do rotator cuff exercises with the cable machine.

interesting, i "think" my contact point is forward.. but cant really be sure unless i video myself. May have to do this to see what i'm really doing

GuyClinch, as mentioned, seeing myself may open my eyes, but thought i'd post to see if this is something more common then not
