Anybody know any pros with single handed backhands who use an Over Size racquet?
Do I count? I probably don't but Anna Smashnova uses a 100sq. in. racket. This was the biggest I could find but I'll keep looking for ya.
I think Youhzney used to use a radical OS but now uses a LM 100 sq. in. Instinct. That is if he is not really using a painted radical.
I can't think of any either but, strangely, there were quite a number of them doing the rounds in the 1980's and early 1990's. Off the top of my head I remember Shlomo Glickstein, Paul Annacone and Peter Doohan using the POG O/S and the Prince Pro (yes, the aluminium one) to all be ranked within the top 50 and one in the top ten (Annacone). That's not forgetting, but not including, Sabatini. I always thought the POG O/S was a particularly effective stick for guys who had a single handed backhand but played it in a very classical fashion and for all of those guys the slice backhand was their main shot off that side.
Hang on, what about Rochus? Not really sure what derivation of the POG he uses now.
Rafter might count.
Didn't Rafter use the 97sq. in.?
yeah thats right, youzhny uses a standart instinct now... no paint
Doesn't Alex Corretja use 100sq?
Not sure, but I know Gene Cherng swats around with OS.
Doohan is still using a Prince Pro, but the last time I saw him it was the mid.
Yannick Noah used an OS on the tour, a wooden/graphite Le Coq Spotif frame.
Could be,Alex uses the first Babolat Drive without the Woofersystem, but dont know the Headsize of it....
