I meant in terms of accomplishments. Perry had a great, great career, Murray's is nowhere near at this point (though has the potential to get there).

Murray winning Wimbledon is going to be worth about $200,000,000 to him over his lifetime. Knighthood won't increase it(or decrease it).

    A mere "kight"?

Andy will be made a Member of the House of Lords, Member of the Privy Council, Baron of the Greens, Lord High Constable, Lord High Steward, Grand Master of Royal Ceremonies, High Arch Cleric of Neverwinter, Honorary Doctorate of Laws.

Remember to say all that before His Name when calling out the scores at next Wimbledon.

He deserves it but surely it has to be done at the end of his career? Makes no sense to me to give it to him whilst he is only half way into his career?

I wouldnt have thought so. I dont think confidence should be an issue now after what he has achieved. If anything it could be more of a distraction and raise expectation to too higher level. I say, just let him play out his career first.

I think he'd just feel like a bit of a tit if they gave him a title now. He wouldn't want to use it while playing, as it would be distracting, so a bit pointless.

He's already been awarded an OBE for what he did up to and including last year, although he's not yet collected it. If they want to give him another award to acknowledge winning Wimbledon, a CBE is the next step up, and I don't think it would be controversial.

Knighthoods to active athletes always feels a bit silly. They've done it with a couple of cyclists (Hoy and Wiggins), but they were in their 30s. I'd say quite a few people think they were given prematurely. That said, most people would say that if Hoy and Wiggins can get them, not to mention Dame Kelly Holmes, then it's a lock-in for Murray to get one too. But just because it's inevitable, doesn't mean they need to rush it.

I wonder if he'll fly a dragon kite or like an airplane themed kite at the ceremony.

Murray isn't a brit like Henman, the guy is Scot. So the brits might have to wait another 100 years for a british champion.

You're right, he isn't a Brit like Henman. He's a Brit like Murray.

You misspelt a word so I fixed it for you.
