Different Mold and different construction. Dunlop put McEnroe's name on a ton of low end frames. I'm afraid the John McEnroe limited is one of them.

    The IMF frames are:
    Dunlop
    Max150G
    Max200G
    Max300i
    Max400i
    Max500i
    Max800i

VSB have you ever seen the light blue version of the Phantom IMF?

Even the dark blue version is relatively hard to find, but I've only ever seen 2 of the gloss paint light blue version!

No I have not. Correct me if I am wrong but I think the Slazenger Phantom IMF was only in production for one year (1988). Because then the Widebody Silhouette came out.

I'm not absolutely sure, but i think the Slazenger IMF rackets were made and originally sold in 1986 or 1987 in the UK at least. By 1988 the designs were different for Slazenger, also the Phantom IMF covers had metal clips, which match the Dunlop max200G covers metal clips from 86/87. By 1988 all the these clips on Dunlop/Slazenger covers were plastic.

There are definitely 4 Slazenger IMF rackets in total (and maybe more):-

Slazenger Phantom IMF - dark blue matt paint.
Slazenger Phantom IMF - light blue gloss shiny paint.
Slazenger Challenge Comp - dark blue gloss shiny paint.
Slazenger (can't remember name) - brown matt paint.

I will try and find photos on internet, and show below, as have no working camera. Here we go:-

I can't find a photo of the brown one, but i can assure everyone it does exist as I have held one in my hand, but just can't remember the name of it unfortunately!
I do own the 3 versions shown above, but not the brown one. If anyone knows about it please let me know.

I agree, used to have one like these a while ago.
Has the looks, build and feel of the Dunlop XLT Graphite.

Actually I don't think the brown one was called a Phantom, but i really can't remember. I'd really like to know now.
