I'm starting to experiment with different hybrid blends with textured polys. im currently playing with a Kirschbaum spiky shark on the mains and prince recoil on the crosses.

I was wondering, what are some other combinations that will allow textured polys to slick across the crosses?

On a side note, id like to stay away from putting polys in the crosses.

Gosen OGSM is one of the slickest and longest lasting. But it becomes too underpowered too soon.

Both of our suggestions are synthetic guts.

I've found Prince Premier Attack to slide nicely in a hybrid.

Topspin Cyber Flash IS a poly, but it is very soft & quite slick. Works well with textured polys IMO.

I've found exactly the opposite. In fact, PPA was the worst cross string I've used with a textured main. My all-time fave is Babolat Xcel French Open. The black coating lets mains glide until it's just too frayed. But then that's when the fun begins :D

Really? It's my go to cross string, so I have a ton of experience with it. A round poly (especially) slides really nicely against PPA.

    PV,

The first time I used PPA, it seemed to be rough and not allow the strings to slide. I just strung it up again and it seems very smooth like it will slide easily. Maybe it got roughed up during play.

Hmm, you two have inspired me. I will give it another go. I used it with BHB7 and was so disappointed at how much it grabbed that I haven't used it since.

OGSM works well as a cross with textured polys in the mains.

Klip Synthetic gut is the softest, lowest-friction non-poly string listed on the string friction rankings chart here on this website.

Have been happy with solinco vanquish (it's a multi), using it with tour bite. The only downside is it frays and breaks pretty quick.

I just bought a set of the Ytex ProTour white to use as a cross for gut mains. It is super slick and seems like it is on the softer side for a poly.
