Loyola Marymount taking Pepperdine down to the wire
lol when will Pepperdine ever be back? Will they?
Pepperdine wins both game s 4-3.
W&M lost 3-4 to UMBC...
UC Davis looks solid this season
Troy upset #47 south Alabama, even with their strong top 2 losing. 3 and 4 picked up the slack.
Troy is a dangerous team for anyone, they may now be the favorites for Sun Belt, they lost 4/3 to Ole Miss and Tennessee, they are deep and can play, only weakness was at #3 from what I saw, but he is a Freshman and can be moved around
good for Ole Miss..
i think there is no surprise they beat S.Alabama, Troy nearly beat SEC Tennessee.
Match vs S.Alabama was clinched at 4-1
Wichita State punished #40 Denver 6-1
also UNC-Greensboro beat UNC-Wilmgton. It looks like the Seahawks' time in the sun as a dangerous mid-major is over.
Denver is funny...After a good win. .
The Troy v USA match came down to a tie-breaker in doubles. Count USA in the same class as Troy.
Gardner-Weeb beats Elon...
San Fran took out #45 New Mexico
Who is the best mid major this year?
If you count Ivy, then Columbia. Outside of that maybe Drake or San Diego.
In tennis i would not Count ivy league
Overall i feel the tennis down. The depth often not there. Boise down vcu down.
Gwu and many others. ..
That is huge. They won the whole invitational over hawaii fresno and new Mexiko
Nice result for Incarnate Word's Tucker Brown as he defeated TCU's Trevor Johnson in straight sets. They played at SMU in the morning and at TCU in the afternoon (singles only).
That's just unbelievable, UMBC ?
Nice win. He's been playing well. Ivic and Smoljan are decent at 1 and 2. (I hit with Ivic on occasion). But the team really had no depth. I think there is potential to be a top team in the Southland, just need to capitalize.
North Florida in a good one with South Alabama. It looks like UNF's #1 had to retire at 5-5 in the 1st set.
UNF won 4-1 , yes #1 retired.
UNF is some serious team right now, their only seniors are #2 and #3
even had a chance vs Vols of Tennessee, only other loss is 0-4 vs Denver (thats scary..UNF only won one set in that one)
Lmu beats cal poly.
Corpus Christi dominated Zona. Nagy 6-1/6-1 vs Takeda
Nevada over #50 San Francisco 6-1 - scores weren't close either.
Georgia Southern over Elon 5-2
Lmu 7-0 over utah State
UMBC beats Vcu on the road 4-2
I guess they have turned their program around. Back when I was in law school at Maryland in the 90's they were really terrible.
from their homepage (lol....)
Men's Tennis Upsets National Power VCU, 4-2 ....(before 2 seasons okay..but not now...)
UMBC has 2 losses at Corpus Christi and a sweep to Vtech...but thats not bad...
Gray/Drean were in ITA Regional finals down at Virginia and lost there to Shane/Corinteli ..but to be in the finals was great. They also beat Bjerrehus/Contini 8-4 in the VTech match. (also in singles only 1 set won vs Vtech)
Jan Kononoov was one of the best Div. II players last seasons at Armstrong Atl.
Melker Svard was a decent junior in Sweden ( a better one as A.Fahnehjelm who is now at Miami for example)
Samir Iftikhar returns from injury for #45 New Mexico and they crush #39 Penn 4-0.
Lol..that penn that beat Psu?
Impressive performance by the Lobos. I thought they were grossly overrated at 45 but they've been showing they deserve it recently.
Penn was chanceless yesterday at all.
UNM is a decent team, ranked right there where they belong in the 40s to 50s region. Might not sneak out the MWC title with Boise (which they should beat this year) and SDSU in there. Nevada also competing here. Could be an-at-large selection.
W/M lost 1-4 to SDSU and the Big Jackson State loses 1-6 to the even bigger FAU.
FGCU sweeps East Carolina 4-0#
UC Irvine beats Gtown and Youngstown St. 6-1 & 7´-0
Utah State 4-2 over UC Pacific
UNCW just best #25 drake. Looks like you spoke a little too soon. I think this is the first time they were able to play their full line-up...
UT Arlington just took out #41 Penn 4-2
Drake twitter still Not have results.
Wow uncw wins over a good drake Team.
I'm Certainly shocked by that result. UNCW has shown no signs they were capable of that so far this year.
Me too...and drake won doubles and to the overall strength Drake just should win this.
Uncw last time lost to Unc Greensboro
63 Tulane took down 52 North Florida 4-1
SMU goes to Cal Poly and wins 4-3 with Slobodkins clinching 7-6(8 ) in the 3rd. SMU recap
Just saw that Xander Veys of UNCW was up 7-6(4) 4-6 6-5 (40-0) when the match was abandoned at #2. Literally a point away from a win over the #38 ranked player in the nation Ben Lott. Now how stupid is that? I bet you anything that Lott was watching the other court and probably ran off the court when the other match ended at #3. Veys is robbed of a big ranked win. He has a decent record this year, so that win would have probably got him into the top 125 and considering there aren't any players from the Colonial in the top 125 right now, this abandonment will likely cost Veys a spot in the individual tournament.
Smu is getting good this season!
Drake is a better indoor team then outdoor.
Uncw is rocking now.
4-3 win over penn state today by unc wilmington. Your comment just keeps getting better and better...
The comment by Clemson_tennis was right at that Time But in these days the college results are really crazy
4-3 win by Pepperdine over Memphis. Very young Pepperdine team, and I think they get more scholarships for next year. Should be more interesting to follow in 2016.
