    Hey guys,

Don't want to start any unnecessary rumors here, but I found some insider info.

Looks like an "RF" sock is in the making...

They're milking him more than usual these days.

As long as they aren't $287, consider them purchased.

I hate to be that guy but doesn't roger have 17 grand slams? So that graphic is outdated, wrong, or fake.

Most likely outdated, Fed was wearing a pair of these socks the days leading up to Wimbledon and bailed on wearing them during the event.

Does anyone know when the special edition underwear comes out?
And more importantly, how many pairs would I have to buy to play like Federer?

Don't know if you guys have heard about this, but in Nike's 10-year deal with Federer there is a contract extension option that essentially takes the "RF" brand and converts it into it's own brand owned by Nike. Similar to what Nike did with Jordan.

Screw that! I like the man and I'll wear a jacket or shirt with his logo, but socks that are packaged like that and will probably cost a ton is NOT an ethical investment. I won't even wear his shoes because they don't come with a warranty, so ain't no way I'm buying those socks.

Nike always owned the Jordan logo they used and had the ability to market it in perpetuity. I do know some later basketball players made sure their logo was theirs, or at least protected their likeness from use after their career was over.

Not sure what Federer's arrangement with Nike is - many times I've had a look about and have never seen anything which comments explicitly on who owns it. I wouldn't be surprised after how many sportspeople were burned in the 80s and 90s if Federer in fact owned or part owned the RF logo.

I'm going to make a bold and GOATish prediction that these socks will truly alter the overall course of the sport for many years to come.

    Epic GOAT Socks.

I want these more than the 287 shoes. These should be cheaper. And you can actually wear them.

Put a pair of regular quality sock in a cardboard box and sell them for 3x the price. Nicely done. That picture should be put in the dictionary under the word 'greed'.

It probably costs less than a dollars to make this one pair of socks.
I should just make myself a couple of fake RF socks. Lol...

The funny thing is, half of you guys will buy them when they come out and the other half will eventually get them. Thats how it always is, with his shoes, clothes, hats etc. Someone will always buy them. Call it whatever you want, but theres a market out there for RF products, and Nike is just exploring it.

    wrong. $28.70:grin:

Again, the hypebeasts will sccop them up, wait 5 minutes and get their confirmation, take a pic of their confirmation, then list it on egay and sell it for $287 to another unsuspecting sucker who will eat it up because it has FREE shipping!

I thought the whole RF line was too fanboy-ish at first, but of course I have like five shirts now. Then, I thought an "RF" hat was too much, but I am going to get that, too. All of that said, there is a line you can't cross unless you are a true sycophant, and I think I draw it at logo socks. :)

This has to be PhotoShop. OP will come back in a few days and say 'gotcha!' Or Nike did the fake pics just to float the idea and see if anything 'stuck to the wall'...

@syke, I hope it's more like less than 5 cents.

@Joel Dali could be onto something; if there is thread in the ankle that improves one's footwork and balance, this could be a huge advancement in the sport. They could even be banned at some point in the future when Adidas players were found to be at a competitive disadvantage.

Basalt fibers? That would be infringing Wilson's IP.

    These are threaded with flywire.

Waste of cardboard. Nike should be fined for that.

Fed is awesome, but I can't believe some idiot is gunna buy those, when you can get an equivalent pair for a $1 without the RF on it.

I feel your pain, but just look around your house and look at all the "idiotic" things you have purchased, that you could have gotten much cheaper.

For example, think of the chair you are sitting on. I guarantee a milk crate could be purchased much cheaper. How many different cups or glasses are in your kitchen that you have spent a lot of money on, when you could have purchased a large diet coke at Mcdonalds for $1.80 and kept the plastic cup to use. I mean, you only need one cup right?

Your house is filled with things you don't really need and you have "stupidly wasted" money on.

You're writing this post on a forum where people post pictures of their headbands and wristbands...if anyone should believe that there are people out there who would pay $28 for a pair of Federer socks, it's a TW forum participant. ;)

$1.99 socks in a $26.00 package - I guess if Phil was to put cat poop in a box, slap a swoosh on it and call it "elite" or "limited edition" fanboys would line up to buy it. Gotta love the Nike marketing.......just sell it.

Dude, No way, I am not even joking with you guys. A few months ago I actually chated with a nike staff member and I said they should make RF socks and Rafa Bull socks (not saying that I deserve credit or anything) but I just thought it was funny and cool at the same time:):)

1, 3, 10, 16, 22...Fantasy 5 combo to keep in mind so I can afford a $28/pair of socks. I'll stick with Nike Basketball Elites, a bargain at half that price! Probably a better product as they are anatomically (L/R) correct and come in a 12-15 size for my aircraft-carrier feet.
