Ok everyone is constantly discussing how old Federer can be and still have #1 status. I have a much better question. How old will Federer be when he drops out of the top 10? 25? Yeah thats a scary thought personally I think he would retire before then.

    I think you meant 35.

And yeah, as long as Federer keeps playing regularly (without missing large chunks of the season due to injury) he will stay in the Top 10.

I think he means when will her drop out of the top ten? The top twenty five?

I don't see him leaving top ten until 2012.

This isn't just a response to one thread, I can't even count how many times people have been arguing how long Fed will stay at the top.

Nadal is going out of the Aussie by the quarters. So Federer will be #1 until the FO at least.

Don't underestimate Nadal at the AO now, epsecially after post Rebound ace, which is almost hardcourt engineered with Nadal in mind.

I predict age 33 is when he'll drop out of top 10. By then, he'll have collected a total of 22 grand slams. But it doesn't stop there. He'll pick up 1 or 2 more Grand Slams even being out of top 10 just to prove nay sayers of how he's too old to compete.

Roger will retire before he loses his number 1. Thats how good he is. Not even time can stop his number 1 ranking.

Well, he knows he's getting up there in age (in tennis years, that is, as he's certainly young in real life!) and he's been thinking about his career longetivity, having recently hired a full-time physio guy to help him keep in shape. He recently told a reporter he felt he should've beaten del Potro in the U.S. Open.

I'd wager he'll stay on top for another year or two but will definitely remain in the top three until he decides to retire.

For the last 3 years I've been saying that Nadal is going to lose before the 2nd week at a hard court slam. Eventually I'm gonna be right.:)

...so according to post 1 he gets about 24 grand slams >.> he has 15 right now at what 28...so if he has 22 by 33...thats another 7 over the next 4-5 years..plus those 2 bonus..don't get me wrong it seems possible but still eventually age catches up.

Didn't Nadal take away his number one ranking once Conquistador?
