My buddy is offering me his barely used Pro Staff 85. It's a Chinese Model - butt cap code is above the 'W'. I've only heard good things about the St. Vincent model as being the 'Holy Grail' of PS85's. Is the chinese model still a solid frame? He's offering it to me for $90.

There's nothing special about the St Vincent. It's just stiffer. Federer used the Chinese model, I think.

The PS85's a fun racket to play around with, but be warned that it practically requires lead tape. $90's a fair price.

Get it, everyone should have one in their cupboard, I've had a St V, Taiwan and a Chinese. There is nothing wrong with thenChinese at all and to be honest nothing overly special about the St V. It's all Sampras hype. Remember Fed used to Chinese to beat Pete and his St Vincents in 99.

At 90 dollars I would quickly grab it before he changes his mind! :)

I have a well-used Chinese PS85 and it's a lovely racket. I say definitely buy, you will not know when you next get an opportunity like this.

Buy it, hit with it...you will become much happier with your own "proper" racquet after that.
    You'll thank me later !

$90 is fair if it is in really good condition, but that's no friend discount and ou could do better on the big auction site if you're patient. If I were you I'd counter offer $70.
