The new PJ is mostly white with blue stripes and black on the top. Beautiful cosmetics.

Ask anything regarding the racquet and il try my best to answer your question.

Great to hear. So what were your impressions on it vs. current gen.

Does it have mostly the same specs as the 2012? I'm very curious if they kept the RA @72 or made it more flexible. Thanks.

I hit with it for about 45 mins. Played very similar to the 2012 model.
I will write a review after a few more hours on court with the stick.

Does it come with the Play computer?

Just taking a jab at Babolat's reputation. We all know tennis elbows have more to do with one's technique and fitness than anything else.

    Hope no harm was done.

I understand that "new" technology features on the 2015, and that the 2015 leans more toward a better control stick than ever before for a Pure Drive?

What exactly is the new technology?

Does it feel as stiff as the 2012?

Have you tried the "Tour" version also?

I'm an ardent Pure Driver and use the PD Team, - have bought and sold every PD generation since as they all have come up short compared to the PD Team (IMO)

This makes me feel bad for a few years back when I posted some low level pros hitting with the Yet-to-be-released Adidas Barricade racket when they were testing them out at the Cincy Masters. Oh well...didn't pan out for Adidas in the long run anyway

Does it have more plow-through? How does the swing weight of the new model compare to the current model? Thanks!

it's a mate' white kinda paint job. there's also a pure drive tour (formerly roddick) , a pure drive lite, a 107, and now a 110 with some softer clearish grommets. pure drive tour felt nice in hand. grip sizes seem to run smaller than previous version by a tiny tiny bit

matte ? however it's speller. also has larger string space lower by the throat and a more dense pattern up towards the tip for more feel supposedly. the string pattern is a little interesting looking

Slightly less stiff slightly more swing weight would be a good recipe.

They should bring it out in October and go head to head with the new Federer racquet for sales.

I saw the new paintjob as well, and agree its vey nice. I love how they painted the inside of the throat a matte black. They also changed the location of the cross strings. Beginning I believe at the 4th-8th cross, they elevated them a bit to be higher towards the tip of the head. I was told most playtesters hit the ball here when using the frame, so they wanted to utilize a denser string pattern in this area, since it is considered the "sweet spot". Not sure how this is going to work out for users. Am interested to hear from those who use the Pure Drive, and how it has changed the feel for them.

Its supposed be showcased at the US Open this year.

1st rule of the fight club, you don't talk about fight club; I believe it's a rule as well to prohibit people from describing details of the new PD paintjob.

interesting. i think this would help to tame some of the PDs prodigious power and improve control - a good thing in my book.

I understand that this was one objective for the 2015 generation. Control element of the racquet is meant to be enhanced.

I was a play tester for the Pure Drive Play. Looking at my own data does indeed show that I hit a little higher towards the tip than I would have thought. I wondered if some of this data was used! or whether it was data from play testing the new Pure Drive. I'll have to go by the Babolat booth in Cincy and see if they have the new racquet "behind the curtains."

Any chance of a "S" model with an open string pattern in order to compete with Wilson Spin Effect and Prince ESP?

Just imagine.. A Pure Drive with a 16x15 string pattern..

What about the flex? Any flexible/less stiff versions of the pure drive? And does the 2015 version have cortex?

    FSI TECHNOLOGY

    Frame String Interaction technology.

It's from the new impact zone that the FSI technology of the Pure Drive 2015 has developed

    - Woofer system to bring more feel to players with each strike of the ball
    - Tighter stringing pattern in the sweet spot area

I was a playtester too (I'm still playing with the racquet) and I am doing the same. Apparently the same was Michelle from TW and not just low level intermediates like me. Daniel (aka BabolatOfficial) also suggested that they used the feedback from the PD play in the development of the 2015 PD. So I think you might be spot on with this speculation...

I saw in an early post that it plays similar to the current model - what is different? I looked back through this thread and could have missed this info.
