it seems like he is using a prestige now based on the color of his racket, its looks a lot more red than before and compare it to berdychs racket.

Either way, it doesn't matter. Same racket, different paint...

I refrain making any assumptions or posts in general when it comes to coded head frames etc. I don't think even the folks at Head know as VS and dr325i.

These have to be the most annoying theads. Someone says they think they know what racquet someone is using from a picture and that picture taken 10 yards away. If it was the 280, 600, pt57a, or a stock youtek, you would not know. What makes you think you do?

i would normally agree with you, but i think in this case its not that the posters who claimed its a pt57 are judging based on this photo. i believe it was already established that soderling uses a pt57a with a youtek radical paintjob. so they are assuming (reasonably) that now he is simply using a youtek prestige paintjob over his old pt57s rather than actually switching.

what i still want to know is when was this pic taken? and is soderling actually going to endorse the prestige now?

The PT57A is NOT a Prestige as some above claimed...
I have a PT57A in MG Radical that Grossjean (SP?) used, in LM Radical, and of course in Prestige PJ. THe PT57A is the PT630 mold, with a different layup...

As for the pictures above, hard to tell due to lighting, but one thing for sure -- he is still playing with the PT57A, YT Radical PJ.

If you look at the Berdych frame, the color looks the same and he also uses the YT Radical Paint.

Head probably switched his paint in order to show that someone in the top 10 is using a "Youtek Prestige." They must have thought there was no need for 2 Radical users as they have Murray already.

I think that Berdych don't has a contract with HEAD but he uses a PT57A (not sure) with Radical MP Paintjob (this one i'm sure).

I saw this 'tennis showdown' yesterday sunday at cotai arena.
Soderling won 'final set' 'tie-breaker', beat Davydanko, fought off
set-point and hit a winning serve down the 'T'.

Only had clear look at Soderling's racket when he sat down (frm my front row seat (section 126 row A seat 1) . IMO looked like similar size to my prestige ( BTW I hv both a prestige classic and PT 630, so I know what they look like). I could c it had full CAP's and clearly saw the 'custom' built-up, end-cap.

First time seeing Davydanko close-up, very impressed w/ his coverage, movement and takes the ball very early (seems like a very nice guy).
Berdych and Soderling looked like giants next to Davydanko and Ferrer.
Everyone, seemed to enjoy seeing the five hours of professional/high level tennis play.

Soderling will be sporting the prestige now because apparently they are getting ready to kill speed and extreme lines, Head will concentrate on Prestige & Radical after new line is released apparently:-|

You are wrong.. Speed Line was created for Djokovic fans and wannabes. When head signs a top3 player it requires a new racquet line to sell more racquets. If they gaved Djokovic a Radical or a Prestige in early 2009 they wouldn't have a big sales boost because of Djokovic because those two sell by themselves. They created the Speed Line and everyone said WOW, Head new racquet for Djokovic it must be good.. Let's try it and give them some money.

Extreme line is more targeted to new generation players. Their target is Womens Tennis if you look to the racquet specs.

I went back and re-read your post...I missed to see the word "MAY" which would indicate a pure speculation and nothing behind it.

slightly off topic,.... If Berdych is not sponsored by Head, where does he source his racquets from? He definitely didnt purchase them from the shops given he is merely using pj youtek radical

In my opinion, head is not doing well with pros and their paintjobs.

I can´t understand why they don´t give Murray the prestige pro paintjob(his racquet has the prestige grommets and it is 16*19), Soderling the prestige(prestige gromets and 18*20), Berdych the speed pro(regular gromets and 16*19) and Djokovic the radical mp (radical gromets and 18*20)!

In this way, anyone will notice they are using paintjobs, but today even my five years old brother can notice them.

Actually, what is REALLY annoying is that someone who has 800 threads and has been on these boards for over 2 years did not figure out how to use the search button. If you stop being lazy and stop pretending to be a smart *** and simply search, you will find the shots of Soderling's racket from 20 inches (or less) away, where it clearly says PT57A inside the throat. Additionally, as Rosen posted above, you could find his old threads where he already clarified it for us since he regularly practiced with Soderling...

Good idea, however, the Speed line was created because of Djokovic and has initially sold TONS of rackets because of him.

Generally, there are 1000 of us, geeks who care (way too much) about the whole PJ deal, and other 500 million people who have no clue what is under the PJ. Out of those 500M people, Head has figured out that a large number will buy the rackets just because their favorite player "uses" them...

Now, since "the PJ buzz" was getting out of hands, Head has decided to cover it better and give the Pros no special markings on the latest Pro stock line...

IIRC, you and VS said that now they will just be putting the pro's name on the inside of the throat as opposed to the engineering code, correct?

So does this mean that the market on coded frames will drop significantly or that the PT/TGK frames without a name will just be that much harder to identify?

The PTs will be discontinued all the way. The TGKs already have the same print inside the throat as the retail stick now (since this summer). So, it will be (almost) impossible to identify them from the pictures (maybe the buttcap will be a giveaway). All of my TGK238.4 have the codes inside the throat, so maybe they become really wanted stuff :) I play with 3 of them, the other four are sitting around...

That stinks that the PT frames are disappearing all the way. I would kill to get my hands on a PT10 in the YTMid PJ. Oh well. I guess I will have to settle for chasing down those PC600s.

Back to the OP, that'a now a prestige PJ. You can see the bottom of his custom handle, same on I seen at Wimbledon when I spoke to him.

rosen88, I seem to member that you knew if soderling had lead all the way under the entire capped grommet head guard. I think he strings the pt57a at 55lbs with full alu. Is that so? That stick must weigh about 372g strung and gripped.
