    Boricua,

Yes, we are currently in the process of playtesting it.

Any preliminary comments? Or will I have to wait for the review?

    Boricua,

We just started playtesting this racquet and I hit with it for the first time yesterday so I can give some first impression comments. I found the racquet to be very powerful from the baseline and when serving. It was very stiff feeling. I thought it was very maneuverable racquet and very easy to get it back into position on harder hit balls and returns. We currently have it strung with Wilson NXT Control but I definitely will be searching around to find another string for it.

I see the Protocol has a 66 stiffness rating so I am surprised it feels stiff when serving. Is it stiff from the baseline also? I am looking for an alternative to the Aeroprodrive and thus considering the Protocol 300. Is the Protocol more arm friendly than the Aeropro or is it as stiff feeling?

Also, NXT Control should be a relatively soft string and you found the racket stiff. I suppose with full poly it could be very harsh.

If the Solinco Protocol is not plush and arm friendly , I will possibly try the Pacific X Fast Pro (with Fischer Technology).

Can you say how the stiffness compares to other similar racquets such as the Extreme, Pure Drive, or Formula 100?

    Boricua,

I was surprised as well at how stiff it felt to me. I talked to other playtesters on both the 300 and 325 (Andy, Michelle, Jason) and they were in agreement that it felt very stiff. We found the most stiffness up at net hitting volleys. Chris found it very powerful. He thought that for whatever reason he found all the different strings he has put in the racquet to feel lively. He didn't find it as stiff as the other playtesters and felt that it was very crisp feeling. As compared to the AeroPro Drive, we found it similar maybe a little softer.

    SFrazeur,

I would say for me it felt similar to the Pure Drive. The other two felt softer.

I just got off the court with the 325 and can give some of my initial thoughts after a few days with this racquet.

I'm enjoying it more and more as my playtest goes on.

I'm pretty immune to stiffness, but some are saying it "feels" stiff -- I think it's mainly because there is no cortex technology so to some it is feeling stiffer vs. the Babolats. For me, it initially felt a little stiff, but I haven't felt ANY pain or discomfort in my arms, so I'm not worried about the stiffness.

Good access to power and spin. I don't find it too powerful, but again, I like to crush the ball and my go-tos are the PD and PDR. Also, we have it strung up with a good, spin friendly poly, so that is helping as well.

Crisp volleys. But if you miss hit, you probably will feel it.

Love this racquet to serve with! Easy to pin point my targets and get some kick going. Slightly sluggish on returns (compared to the PDR/PD).

    Hope that helps,

    Michelle, TW
