Devvarman had no business lasting this long so far. Can't wait for him to go; him game bores me to death. I don't like calling players pushers, but Devvarman is such a pusher.

I thought I did, but now that you bring it up I am starting to doubt myself. Why don't you tell me what talent looks like and what it is.

Not talented huh? By your definition of talent, you have nothing going for yourself then? The guy had a career high ranking of 62 in singles, won the NCAA singles twice. He's just playing within himself to maximize his game.

No one who makes his living on the tour is untalented.

Well it's 2 days actually, maybe even 2,5 if he's scheduled for the night session (as he should!). With the right therapy he should be OK.

    Not a boring match.

Do find it a bit weird that people were roasting Devvarman for his medical timeouts, but Janowicz is apparently getting a pass on his right before Somdev was to serve to stay in the match/even the 5th set at 5 all.

I'm not sure what Devvarman's injury was...something strained in his forearm? I never get down on player's for taking injury timeouts. I prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. Janowicz definitely seemed to be in some pain from his blister.

This mother f****r is crazy. Kamikaze style.

I'll be interested to see what he can pull together against the likes of Almagro, Tipsarevic, Ferrer. Can he come up with the goods? I hope so. And I love watching Almagro.

Gimmelstob called it spot on when he said Jerzy plays without fear. Divine wind style sh*t. This guy is crazy fun to watch !!

I hope he grows up a tad and fast. His game is huge and he's a much better mover than most of the big hitters/servers.

I am an Andy Roddick fan so I don't mind on court antics, but JJ was screaming at the top of his lungs like a child. Find better ways to channel that anger, expends too much energy and really turns the crowd off.

    Granted. Absolutely. All of that.

As I rewatch that point, though, I can imagine how much pressure he must have been feeling as the tie break was unfolding - versus how ripped off by the umpire he must have felt. He was right there. That ball landed *slowly* right in front of his eyes. There is no hawk-eye there (which is a travesty at a Grand Slam, arguably today). I guess we will never know how that ball landed. That match could have been easily Janowicz in 3, served with a baguette and a bagel.

While Janowicz has a lot to learn, he has the the golden touch. And to that I say: play crazy! I am entertained.

JJ said in Paris he had a tough childhood. I can believe that, looking at his face.

I am not sure why JJ is being considered an upcoming player. I watched the entire match and he is not consistent, emotionally not stable.

Tennis is not about ball bashing but point construction and composure.

At times, he seems to be bashing the ball as if that's the only way to win a match.

He does not qualify to be an upcoming player. In my opinion, Ryan Harrison is better than him. :)

Ryan Harrison is ranked 62 and he like JJ started in 2007. JJ aside from his composure is not an average ball basher, he is all around player, he has every shot in the book to his disposal, just happen to have extraordinary f/h and b/h and he likes to use them. BTW, JJ is not an upcoming player, he already came and is here. I will not be surprised by the end of this year he'll be in top 10

5-set victory over some unknown player is not convincing to me and cannot change my opinion about him.

let's see how he fairs in the next round and to what capacity he will use his extraordinary f/h and b/h. remember to come back and see what I had to say about him after the match. having extraordinary f/h and b/h is of no use if you cannot hit them consistently in ATP matches against decent players forget about unknown players.

Interesting comment. Perhaps the passion he has found in tennis can erase some of those scars. He has something special to give back is what I sense.

I will come back, I am curious too, and FYI he was robbed in 1st set tiebreaker, good chance if it wasn't for that it would end up in 3 sets, do not to forget to consider that
not to mention this unknown player beat BJORN PHAU #78 in previous match, in 3 sets

I watched Radwanska match as well, she had 3-4 challenges and was correct 100% with few mm in each case. Yes, I do believe players can see better than line judges in most cases, they would be where they are if they couldn't
