That's right, you heard it here first. Sonic the hedgehog would dominate Roger. His super speed would allow him to run down all of Roger's shots and we all know how much Roger hates grinders.

What do you think, theoretically would Sonic win if they played a match on grass?

Yeah, Mario hit his prime back in the late 90s and it carried over until recently. But now that he has tendinitis in both knees, Sonic the hedgehog is starting to take over.

As soon as Sonic loses a step (or 3,000) he's toast. His serve is mediocre at best...sometimes I think he just rolls it in to get the point started. I mean, why bother with your serve if you can run down almost any return? He's really just resting on the talent he was born with and not willing to improve any other aspect of his game. Unbelievable! I'm warning everyone now, as soon as big hitters like Ivo Robotnik and the Hammer Bros realize that they can simply run around their backhands hit flat bombs down the center of the court, Sonic is done. I say one more Princess Peach Open and he's done winning majors.

Yeah, he needs to improve other aspects of his game. I agree. But he's still very young just 18, so he's got time to improve.

A younger Sega Mega Drive Sonic would destroy Roger. He was way faster than that back in the 90's. Sometimes he would run so fast his legs would just look like a blurry cyclone.

That video is such garbage. Don't you remember this match? Sonic's lateral movement was obviously compromised by mono. There's no way other way to explain how a player like Shadow with no genius to his game can just hit crosscourt shots all day and still win. A healthy Sonic would have smoked that moonballing framer.

Are you kidding me? Every time Sonic goes through a little dry spell, everyone starts writing him off. A couple of years ago, as columnists began publishing their obituaries as he hadn't won a major in two years, Sonic responded with one of his finest seasons, winning both the Mushroom Cup and Peach Open, regarded as the hardest double on the circuit (and one which Mario never completed, Mariotards  ) as well as five other titles. Yeah, the lack of an Emerald Open title is a gaping hole in his resume, but it seems he may have a chance this year, as Shadow pulled out of the tournament with an injury (which is BS - he just doesn't want to face Sonic after that embarrassing Tails Classic defeat) and Mario is too old and fat to compete with the top of the game anymore.

Sorry, but Peach was the best in all the tennis games. She was the Federer of cartoony tennis games.

First of all, Sonic was not in his prime in 2000. Secondly, shy guy would have been destroyed on a slower surface. It was a pretty big upset but I still think that Shy Guy was lucky to win that match.

Shy Guy had been through hell to get to that final. He was nearly "swallowed" in his match against yoshi. He fended off mario's "fireball" like serves, even kept his cool when mario jumped on his head. He then nearly broke his hip tripping over banana peels left on the ground on change over by DK. Sonic had an easy draw all the way through, meeting a koopa, mushroom, and magikarp (pokemonwtf?).

    Shy Guy>Mario.

Sonic is like what, 4'3"? He would have absolutely no power behind his shots.

Federer would own him like he owns Hewitt.

I dont think you realize just how fast Sonic is. Can Hewitt rally with himself? No matter how fast Hewitt runs, I can still see each of his legs clearly. Sonic however...

That Shadow only played mindless bashing there. Anyone could have won.

By the way, Sonic is an overrated arrogant jerk.

Sonic doesn't have near the penetrating forehand to pull this off, and while his one-handed backhand is pretty decent (maybe a smidge better than Federbear's), Sonic uses a 102 in. racquet (Pure Storm MP---the yellow one), and as everyone here knows, you're a loser if you use a MP racquet. Mayyyybe if Sonic went down to a 90 or 93 in. racquet (think either the K90, Redondo, or Presige Mid), he could have a little more control, but everyone knows Sonic is just a no-slam wonder with just good movement. I mean, without good movement he'd be nothing. He's also pretty arrogant on the court, always running to the other side of the court on changeovers, but that arrogancy would come to an end against Federer's godlikeness (wow, I can't believe spell check didn't pick that up) or Nadal's superior game. You know, Sonic actually reminds me of Safin/Nalbandian/Hewitt/Rios.etc in that he's always had the talent, but can't put it together into a consistent performance. He's young, though---younger than 20---I like for him to become the GOAT after Federer leaves. I mean, what if Sonic hadn't come along during the dominance of Nadal and Federer? He'd definitely have more Slams by now. Let's be honest, Laver wouldn't have a chance.

By the way, does anyone know what headband Sonic uses. It looks pretty cool. I was thinking of getting one myself.

And who was that attractive young lady in his box in his loss to Roddick (that Roddick was of course very lucky to win, as he has no game and is only a big serve)?

    Did I miss anything?

Get over it: serve-and-mushroomjump-volley was the real tennis. Don't make me laugh about your baselinebasher Sonic boy: look at his game, it's so physical that he will have a ten minutes long prime. Mario was pure talent, but Sonic is just about running from side to side.

You don't know anything about post-Pong era tennis: one single Donkey Kong barrel serve would destroy your whole field of today's mediocre pixelcourt specialists. Donkey Kong for GOAT!

Anyway, Pong was THE tennis game. No ball bouncing, no antics, no crybabys, no racquet smashing, no headcases, no moonballing ... just pure and masculine flat groundstrokes to the angles!

What would happened if Sonic finds the 7 chaos esmeralds and 50 rings?

Who would stop Super Sonic from winning 4 slams and 9 master series a year?

The administrative body of the tour for positive emerald tests. He shouldn't even try, although admittedly, there is increasingly substantial proof that he has used HGH (Hedgehog Growth Hormone) and/or emerald stimulants.

these mariotards who claim mario owns sonic have obvioulsy never seen sonic play live. sonic live is a beast, absolutely no comparison to mario. ive heard mario might be on performance enchancing drugs anyway? this could put a serious blight in marios resume! i mean with mario out of the picture can we realistically see anyone APART from sonic dominating the tour and becoming undisputed GOAT? i think not. and anyone who thinks sonics calender slam last year was a fluke, let me ask you this....was it sonics fault that mario was out injured in 3 out of the 4 grand slams? i think not!anyone who saw the USO live when sonic edged mario for the win knew sonic completely derserved that slam and that mario was NOT underperforming due to his return from injury....all i can say is, the next year or so is going to be one heck of a ride, expect sonic to be firing on all cylinders, mariotards better watch out!

Mario is still in his prime. He's just in outer space currently.

Mario would totally crush Nadal given his ability to jump high and return all of Nadal's top spin forehands to his backhand as clear winners.

Super Knuckles has a helluva backhand and regularly serves 140+. He can hit all the spots but is prone to walkabouts.

Well, I knew it. That's why he's so comfortable relying on his speed...he's juiced! Sonic is done, IMO.

Let's face it, Sonic used to be awesome but he's well past his prime now. Just like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, these once great platforming heroes are now producing crappy games with many, many unforced errors. I don't see it happening.
