Recently traded my youtek speed pro with someone local and I wanted to verify if it was authentic or not. The guy didn't have a receipt, but he said the person he bought it off purchased it from tennis warehouse, but who can you trust nowadays.

I've never played with a babolat before so I don't know how the pure drives feel. Playing with it though it felt nice and it had a lot of pop

I tried to take as clear pictures as possible

i'm pretty sure this one is real, but if you really want to make sure, just take the grip off and see what color the pallet is. The pallet should be a vanilla white color. if its black, then its probably a fake. everything else seems pretty legit from what i can see.

Did you buy that in NC?

I sold that same racquet (same grip size, manufacturers 3 letters on the bottom, and the rubberband are all the same) to a guy Monday and told him I bought it off Tennis Warehouse (where I buy all my racquets).

If it is the one I sold, I will forward you the e-mail for TW showing it's real.

If it's not me who sold it, I'd bet anything that that was an authentic. I know that racquet really well and everything on it looks absolutely perfect.

It looks real but you should ask a tennis pro or go to a pro shop and compare it with the one they have there.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I also have a PD I would like to verify.

I regripped both my PDs with Babolat leathers and noticed that one grip size is bigger than the other. I un-did the grips and noticed some difference between the pallets.
One has a nice smooth laminated finish with engravings: the gripsize and some kind of code. The other lacks this smooth finish and is rougher. Further more, I noticed in one spot, instead of there being the usual polyurethane stuff, it's a kind of clear rubbery material that extends deep into the handle and it seems that the handle is not completely polyurethane.
One might say the racquet with the rougher finish has been shaven down but I've shaved down a racquet before as far down as I went, there was no clearish rubbery material; it was completely polyurethane.
BTW I bought these used from a TTW member with many positive references. I've contacted him asking where he's bought them in case maybe he didn't know they were fake when he purchased them. If one or both is fake, I'm thinking of sending both back to the seller and asking for a refund.
I can get pics of the handles up if you want. The rest of the cosmetics look find but then again, fakes nowadays can have very eleborate paintjobs. Thanks for your help
