David Goffin wouldn't be a bad candidate.

Nice comparison, but giant killers usually aren't giants, haha.

That is amazing. Djokovic's face truly has a Johnny expression to it. The Serbian Johnny.

You can just imagine Nadal in a practice session with the music playing "Your the best around, nothing's ever going to keep you down!"

That song often reminds me of the exhibition Canadian doubles match with the Nuvratilova Goolagong Graf in midtown the other summer.

If Goffin is Ralph Maccio then Mr. Miyagi would naturally be:

LOL...this was my first cinematic experience of Southern California...at the time I wished I could visit the same streets and the malls where Danny LaRusso walked, only to realise it was probably filmed in the backblocks of Burbank or somewhere.

    "YESSS SENSEI !!!"

    "It's over, man,"
"It ain't over till I say it is...!!!"

"Coz it's the moment of TRUTH!..."
    "We give it a shot..."

Trivia: film was directed by John G. Avildsen, same guy who did Rocky. Anyone remember the scene when they go and pickup Liz Shue and meet her parents out front of their place? The parents looked real upscale in the matching FILA Borg tops...

    Miyagi?

Hmmmm...Federer was a nice idea. Since he's playing though, why not Laver?

Miyago is supposed to be wise. Federer definitely not a good fit. So I agree, go with a retired old school player.

You know, my first choice was Brad Gilbert, but I think we need a complete master of the game like Miyagi was to Martial Arts, not a guy that teaches you how to win ugly.

I still say Rod Laver. Small guy, master of his craft, and I could see him making lots of little memorable quotes.

    LMAO BevelDevil :)
If you have the inclination, can you (or anyone else) apply your zany Photoshop imagination to any or all of these quotes:

Kreese: Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it?
    Karate Class: NO, SENSEI!
Kreese: Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it?
    Karate Class: NO, SENSEI!
Kreese: Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it?
    Karate Class: NO, SENSEI!

[Bobby is about to face Daniel in the semifinals]
Kreese: Bobby - I want him out of commission.
Bobby: But Sensei, I can beat this guy!
Kreese: I don't want him beat.
    Bobby: But I'll be disqualified!
    Kreese: [icily] Out of commission.

Tommy: Get him a body bag! Yeah!

Miyagi: [repeated line to Daniel] Look eye!, always look eye!
