    Aykhan knows his stuff.

    CENTRAL COURT - 1.00 p.m.
    Men's Singles - Second round
Andy Roddick (USA) vs Albert Costa (ESP)
Richard Gasquet (FRA) vs Andre Agassi (USA)
Filippo VOLANDRI (ITA) vs Gaston Gaudio (ARG)
    9.00 p.m.
Nicolas Almagro (ESP) vs Marat Safin (RUS)

    Man, what a line-up tomorrow!

Aykhan, care to spoil the other three matchups for us? If you nail it again, a round of Arak for all of us...and put it on the Mammadov's tab, please.

On an unrelated note: a question for all of you cunning linguists and tour insiders...
Are we to pronounce Gasquet's first name Richard or like Ree-SHARR?
My favorite was about six years ago, when RF was the world no. 1 jr., a friend of mine thought it was Ro-Zhay Feder-Ay. I guess he just wanted to put some High School French to use.
Do you guys say Babbalott or BAH-bo-LAH?

Gasquet will win in 3. Its pronounced with a silent T, Gasqu-Ay. Its its just Richard I think.

anyone watching this match? Agassi's up two breaks (5-1). I thought he was in trouble when he started out 0-40 on his serve. But he won that game and hasn't looked back.

Yeah, Andre won first set 6-2.. I would still put my money on Richard. I think he just lost concentration after he was about to go up 2-0 in the first set..

Oof, that was quick. Looks like RG never recovered after blowing the first three break chances he had. Love to hear from anyone who saw the match; from the score and time, looks like AA just rolled, no contest. Too bad, both these guys could've used a real match.

The match has been over for about an hour and there are no Gasquet lovers offering up their excuses as to why RG lost to the A-Train. Just waiting for the excuses in 3..2..1...

He was tired from all of his matches the past couple of days....

I'm just kidding, sorry, I had to do it lol. I have no clue why he lost but by the score it looked rather easy for Andre.

Andre was taking the ball early and hitting it clean. They were trading backhand crosscourts and Gasquet realized he wasn't really hurting Andre but he was getting hurt in those rallies. He started trying to go down the line, the lower percentage shot, which is exactly what AA wanted to see. He made a few, but Andre ripped running forehand cross courts to the weaker RG forehand, and scored off it many times.

I just looked like Andre rushed Richard enough to really bother him.

impressive, someone twice the age of RG wins. I think when Andre turned pro RG wasn't even born?? Or maybe he was just by a few months. Amazing.

It is Ree-shard Gas-***, and I'm pretty sure its Bah-bo-lah. It's only courteous to say things with foreign origin the way the were originally meant to be said and not butcher it with an American accent.

Gasquet won over a lot of fans when he beat Federer two weeks ago and got to the finals of Monte Carlo. The polls indicate Richard was expected to win.

As always, i was going for Andre. Coria looming, that'll be tough.

I was always suspicious with the Rome results over the years. No wonder Pete won it back in 90s... I would not be surprised if Andre or Andy wins it beating good ol clay courters on the way. The problem for them however is that none of the is gonna happen in Hamburg and FO. I doubt that Andre and Andy are even gonna show up in Hamburg. I am just not convinced about this "clay courts" that they have in Rome when Roddick wins 95% of his first serve points.. Sounds more like grass to me...

Good points, and you may be right. But did you watch the match? I saw the end of it during the "LIVE" coverage, and am now watching the first set. Andy is being unbelievably patient in the rallies, not going for too much. Definitely playing more of a traditional "claycourt" style tennis -- except for his serve, which is cranking as usual. Also, I've read that his movement has improved, and I think that was evident today, too.

Too bad we don't get the player interviews (at least that I can tell). Would be nice to hear the players' assessment of these matches, the speed of the court, etc.
