Dubai is a slow hardcourt. I'd put money on Nadal(especially since the oddsmakers will underate him)

Fed will be victorious. He doesnt lose on hardcourts or grass. He is only slightly vulnerable on clay and carpet if he has a broken ankle.

The match won't be played until tomorrow, was it really necessary to move it to this section before then?

This match results section has really made the pro player section rather boring.

Well, all we have to do is move basically all of the threads that used to be in pro player talk into match discussion, and then we'll have an interesting match discussion forum! ;)

    Nadal's ready:

"Tomorrow is going to be a very special match," Nadal said. "I am very happy to make it to the finals in only my second tournament after four months. Federer is a finals specialist, but I have won my last 10 finals, too."

Nadal is pumped up. Federer is Federer. Both of these guys are nearly unbeatable. I don't think there's a favorite in this match - Nadal is 1-1 against Federer on hardcourts but Federer wasn't feeling well in one match and Nadal nearly beat him in straight sets the other then lost in 5. Then on clay, Federer says it was the worst semifinal he's played, but was that because Nadal put him off his game? It's hard...but damn, I'll pick Federer. Surely by now he's figured out Nadal's game.

If Federer loses, Nadal might end up being the dominant player this year.

Hope Fed wins but my gut tells me Nadal will be the last man standing this time.

just saw that Nadal is +250 on sportsbetting. i know fed's the man, but those odds are nuts. that's a very good bet imo

If I were a betting man, I'd probably take those +250 odds and go for Nadal. He's always given Federer trouble so what makes people think that will change? I have a feeling Fed will come through, but Nadal's got an equal chance and I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see him fall down on his back in victory at the end of this match.

my vote to Fed, but it won't easy game for Fed (imo).
I predict this year will show the dominant rivalry between Fed-Nadal, they will meet in finals each other often as long as nadal stay health from injury.

Fed leads 3-0, and it is only 10 minutes in. Fed is making Nadal hit his backhand and thats what is killing him. Federer already has like 4 aces as well. Seems like Nadal cant get any pace on the ball.

    No problem.

Anyone watching this live, how do Fed and Nadal compare today to previous rounds with things like unfroced errors?

Just by looking at stats seems like Fed has more problem with Nadal's 2nd serve than his 1st! How strange is that.

Federer playing extremely cleanly. Nadal playing 6-8 feet behind baseline and getting run around like the way Agassi does to his opponents. Fed coming in a lot and volleying very solid. Both guys moving well. Extremely clean set by Fed not much Nadal could do. 2nd set about to begin

That western grip does seem to be difficult with FED's low and heavy slice.

I thought the same thing...Fed goes up to put a ball away and Nadal is so far in the back court that he is out of the picture.

The low angle camara is cool though for showing spin and net clearance.

Seems like Federer can't figure out counterpunchers the first few times he plays them, like Hewitt and Nalbandian, now Nadal, all different styles of counterpuncher that trouble Fed..
