I came across a used Babolat Star 3, I've decided to pick it up for the low price of $250.
The only thing is it needs a new string gripper. Anybody know where to get a replacement/used one?

I'll post pictures once I have the machine.

cc, babolat is no longer making parts for the star 3 so whatever parts are available on the market are all there is. did you inquire w/ babolat or tennis machines on the availability of the gripper before buying? if the gripper is still available, you got a great deal. if they are not, you might have bought a $250 paper weight.

I actually did get in touch with a friend who has located a gripper for $75. So $325 and I've got myself a solid machine.

Here are some pics from today. It still needs some work, the only thing that I need are the cap screws for the thumb lock for the clamps. Didn't have a chance to take a trip to the hardware store but I did get the string gripper working 100% and pulling/holding string perfectly.

As you can see, this machine has been through the ringer but amazingly it pulls pretty good and just needs some clean up.

Woah, that is weird! The same on my iPhone.

Yep, that's a ML90 in the back. I plan on cleaning the Star 3 as soon as I have it functioning. It's got all kinds of string bits under the hood.

Have no idea send me your Kamera and I will look at it. LOL Just kidding. You're going to have to post your pictures on a website like photobucket to share pictures. But on second thought you may not have enough posts to post pictures.

Stringway is from 2011 and no, it's not for sale!

The parts are on their way. In total, $93 for all the things (screws and a few minor parts). Then all I have to do is calibrate and I'm good to go.

Pictures will be up soon. I'm considering repainting it to near original condition.

Congratulations! One of the greatest machines ever made. Built like a tank from what I understand.

    Happy stringing!
