Starting a business

    I am considering stringing managing the racquet business for a major retailer. Last year we strung 10,000 racquets at the 3 stores I will manage. I will be paid per racquet as an Independent Contractor then I will pay my sub contractors.
    Should I get a business license? Should I incorporate? As an "S" corporation. How can I minimize my taxes. Should I "1099" my subcontractors?

    Not exactly sure what you're looking for here. If you have basic questions about business setup, I suggest first reading a general guide for small businesses and working for yourself, such as these Nolo guides:

    For actual questions about taxes and business setup, first I would ask your accountant--and believe me, if you're going to manage stores as an independent contractor and have employees or subcontractors, you'll need one. Best to consult with him/her before you get started.
