In yyulittle's video he removes the starting clamp after the top 5 crosses. Other than accidently bumping the starting clamp, is there a problem to leave the starting clamp in until all the crosses are done and the throat knot is tied off, then go back and deal with it?

Other than bumping into the clamp and as a result knocking it off, or damaging the string, this procedure is fine.

This is exactly what I do. Also, instead of having the clamp tick in the air, I have it so it lies along side the frame thereby reducing the chance of knocking it off.

I leave mine horizontal sitting on one of the mounts. I'm clumsy, so I use the YULitle technique.
