I don't think that's his racket flexing. The shutter speed of the camera isn't fast enough, so fast movements are streeettcched.

He hasn't hit the ball yet in that picture, has he? I don't think Fischers are sooo flexible that they distort just from being swung!

Undoubtedly APro, Galain...I like flexible racquets but I dont' think you'll be too effective with a racquet that bends from wind resistance...ROFL

It's a phenomenom of using a camera with a focal plane shutter to shoot a fast traveling object. The camera uses a very thin slit in the shutter to expose the film. The slit travels across the area of the film frame very, very fast. Thus, one side of the photograph is exposed before the other. On the Stich picture, the left side of the photograph is the first side exposed.
If you look at photographs of race cars, you will also see that some appear to have oval wheels from this same photographic effect.

If it really flexed that much from just a swing, it'd be like jello when the ball is actually hit. It'd be like playing with a damp noodle.

There is absolutely no flex at all. It's just the camera. you think that is flex? So I guess my car stretches and flexes 10 feet because of wind resistence (take a picture of a moving vehicle).

Um...yeah...actually they're both repeating what Annihilator Pro originally pointed out hours before (which is fine, but credit where credit is due). Funny how this always happens in the threads...goes to show how few people actually read any of the previous posts!

The photo (and its effect) not withstanding, the Vac Pro 90 is a nicely flexible frame. Very muted, too. Quite unique in every way.

My question is how did the photographer get that angle??? Anybody? Anyone? This was during a match with Agassi. Was he standing on a 50 foot extension ladder??

I always wanted to hit with the vacuum pro 90, mainly because stich used it, it's supposed to be such a sweet frame.

I knew there was no flex of the racquet. Still, I thought the picture was pretty cool.
