strange injury..stretched my wrist..

    Strange thing..stretched my ankle?Please help..

    I mean the ankle,tried to edit wrist in title,but could`nt...Feels like i have twisted my ankle(i have not!)..Could one pull a spine in the foot from stretching? What i tried to was standing on one leg,stretching the quadrseps?(frontside of the leg,over the knees,the big muscle)Anyway i was cold.. and holding the toes to stretch the quadraseps,something happened in my ankle,the day after i just thought it was stiff and played squash,next day(yesterday)i could hardly walk ..so moving seems wrong. I have no swelling,but it feels as if i had rolled over with my ankle.I sort of hope i have pulled something in there,if so how long could it take? I had to pull out of a tournament this weekend. Bad mood....

    A "spine"? Sorry, don't get it.

    Anyway, this is a lesson for you to get into stretching only after a 5min running or biking which makes you sweating. And that should be LIGHT stretching. Heavy (including isometric) stretching should be practiced only at the end of your training.

    And whenever you have pain, you should apply immediately a light massage to the area.

    Other than that, do you feel pain with pressing with your fingers in any area of the ankle?

    Do you feel pain when walking straight (i.e. no twists)? If so, where exactly? On the side of the ankle? On the inside of the ankle? On its front?

    I'd suggest you should apply light massage, avoid any twisting motions, and if it doens't go off in 2-3 days, go a a doctor.

    It's quite difficult to assume you torn your ligaments doing this, it's probably just a sprain.
