    Hi Guys

Was just wondering if anyone knew of any weight training or other excercises to improve shot power , ie add speed to serves of forehands etc. My friend swears by benchpressing and says that helps a great deal..Is this true?

I do lift quite a bit , but am not really aware of any tennis specific excercises

    Thanks

    James

The best way to improve your shot power is to be in good enough shape to hit hundreds/thousands of balls and not incur an overuse injury. These are a good set of exercises to get you on your way: www.asmi.org/SportsMed/media/thrower10.swf

If you want to go further, and get even stronger, check out this reasonable site: http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/tennis-training.html
