I'm thinking about switching from Prestige to Prestige Pro.

I currently have Flexpoint and might switch to IG or Youtek Pro.
I have enjoyed long string life of Prestige(18x20).
That particularly worked well for 15L gauge Babolat natural gut (which
    maintains playabilty pretty long time).

Now I consider switching to Prestige Pro but has 16x19 string bed.
I'm just curious about how much difference there will be in terms of
string life in general(gut, poly or anything). Any tips will be appreciated.

I switched from a PC600 (18x20) to the BLX90 (16x19), relatively the same head size (89.5 vs 90) so maybe I can provide you with some feedback.

String durability takes a MAJOR hit. I play with gut/poly hybrid with gut in the mains, and the 18x20 pattern easily gave me double the durability.

I suspect with the Prestige Pro, durability will take a further hit because the stringbed will be even more open.

    Remember, you're going from a 18x20 in 89.5sq inches to 16x19 in 95sq inches.

when I played 18x20 it was rare to break strings - they would lose their tension & resiliency first, even with 17g.

I should have made it clear that I'm switching from prestige midplus(which is
supposed to be around 94-95sq, although new prestige midplus does look bigger).

Anyway I think you are right, at least half of string life, from 18x20 to 16x19.
but I got the impression that blx90 felt much stiffer than pc600 mid as I recall....

    Between the baseline and netcord.
With a 16x19 pattern your mains will be moving and snapping back more than a dense pattern. Therefore, they will be sawing against the crosses at a much faster rate.

I use MP and my current setup lasts 4-6 hours. When my friend lent me his PRO for 2 weeks, I was breaking the same setup between 1.5 and 2.5 hours.

FWIW, compared to other 95 sq inch head sizes, the Prestige Pro patterns is pretty dense.
