So when i first started getting serious 5 years ago.. i've been using very cheap synthetic gut and never realized that it could be my strings that had my performance suffer and cost me my match.. Then realized later on that changing to performance strings

Anyone out there that was in same boat and had lot of matches lost mostly due to strings since it wasn't performing but you thought it was your mental or physical game? (mostly mental for me :)

I dont want to sound like im making excuses for my lost but it does make sense that strings are important since its the first thing tennis ball touches...

Of course I was able to adjust accordingly to make the shots go deeper due to the cheap strings it eventually takes a toll as it felt awkard..

I kid.. stings do make a diff, as do racquets, but imo most of the performance come from the player.

Sounds like your strings lost its playability due to age. Thats why your game suffered.
