I wondered if any else have try string savers?
With the POG strings were breaking every few hours but
after putting the string saver on, the strings lasted 2 to 3 times longer.

    with gut

I use the Babolat string savers with VS 17 gut in a Prostaff Original 95 and find it gives the gut more ball bite as well as a longer life. It stiffens the gut a bit and I find it just right. Gut with slightly less power and more bite. Kinda' like a hybrid.

String savers are fine with the POG, but only when it is strung with an expensive set of natural gut. I dont see a point of spending $5.00 for a string saver to put on a $3.50 syn. gut.

Its the nature of the best that the POG is notorious for chewing up strings due to such open string pattern.

I use more durable strings such as, polys to help this problem, even with that, I do not see any point of using string savers due to them popping off. I have such an extreme top spin and those string savers will all be gone after a set. ;)

When I used Super Spiky, a notoriously durable "string" (seems more like steel wire) in the POG, it lasted forever and held tension quite well.
