anyone find any good setups that work in the Blade 104? I just got one and would love some ideas about what works and what doesn't. I know what works in my Blade 98, but this is a different animal. My demo has full poly (Savage black, I think) and its OK, but lacking some pop off the stringbed. Maybe a poly/nylon hybrid at around 55/57?

Yes Jack, Hybrid is the way to go. My typical set up is Gosen Polylon/Micro Sheep at 57.

Thanks. Did you find that you need to go higher or lower in tension compared to the 98? How is power level for your setup?

I keep it up just a tad in the 104 to enable better control. With the bigger head, playability becomes easier. (as you are now seeing) BUT at the same time one must be mindful of the livelier/bigger string bed.

example. Prince EXO Warrior, big lively open string bed.
Great at times, terrible at times. (and as tension drops, it gets worse)

Jack, the best and cheapest way to save yourself from string hell is to throw some prince syn gut 16 in there at medium tension. That is going to answer a ton of questions for you. After a week with that you will know if you want more spin, tighter tension, softer,crisper..etc. It answers everything for you.

I like full bed of 4G in mine. I think a gut 4g hybrid would be sweet too.

Have u tried any hybrids or just full poly? My demo had full set of Savage (black) and felt very good. I was surprised how much power I had even with full poly. I am wondering if full poly or a hybrid is the way to go with the 104?
