    Trying to stay close to your price range, these get pretty good reviews on the forums:

    Gamma Progression II 602 FC $469
    Alpha Pioneer DC Plus $429
    Eagnas EAG-300 $409

    Disclaimer: Of the three, I've only seen and used the Pioneer. The Eagnas is a clone of a Prince Neos, which I really like, and I was leaning toward buying one before I found my used Neos.

    of the three listed above, I had a Gamma 602FC for about 10 years prior...... never a problem or issue....

    I recently upgraded to a Gamma 6004.

    I would suggest you start by trying to determine what you really want and not what you can afford. Things you need to evaluate are:

    * Clamps - flying, glidebar, or swivel
    * Tension head - drop weight, lockout, or electronic
    * Mounting System - 2 point, 4 point, or 6 point
    * Tools
    * Support after your purchase

    Once you know what you want look for the best deal.
