I'm finally getting the hang of my stringing machine but no matter what on every string job I do the second to last cross string on both top and bottom is extremely loose and moves on every hit. The last mains are loose as well. I've upped the tension by as much as 8lbs on the final crosses and mains to compensate for the tension loss from the tie off, and purchased a starting clamp to make sure I could get as tight a finishing knot as possible but still same result.

Here's of a pic of the string movement and a close up of the knot:

    Any advice?

You've mis-strung the crosses for one thing (Bottom 2 are identical)....Plus the outer mains will always seem a little looser because you have support of a string on both sides.

I've done the exact same things on my first three string jobs.

I was so focused on starting crosses opposite (over on one, under on the next) that I didn't realize what happened till I was done. Outter mains and crosses will generally be looser but working on knots will make it much better.

    Best of luck,
    Jack
