Hey..I was wondering how safe or risky it is to string gut on a dropweight machine. I use the Gamma Progression II 602 FC. Ive never tried gut before and wanted to buy some to try it out. Ive heard that it isnt safe to string gut on a dropweight but then other people tell me its fine. Any insight would be grateful :)

Clean your clamps, you'll be fine. I've strung Klip Legend for myself, as well as Grand Slam Gut, Wilson, and Babolat VS for customers on my X-6 FC (almost the same machine) with no problems except GSG snapping once due to it being terrible gut to begin with.

5-10 minutes longer than a syn gut, maybe. I gut a gut hybrid with syn gut crosses done in 35-40 minutes.

Wow . . . That's how is was done for years and years

Except for resistence to abrasion and moisture, NG is stronger than anything else.

I made that thread a while back and just searched it up.

It is a good idea to use the search button before creating a thread.

I string Natural Gut fine (Pacific ToughGut, Babolat VS 15L, 16g, 17g) on a Klippermate Drop Weight Machine. It's like 10 years old. Just string slowly. Click on the links above for extra care tips.
