I thought it was better to string crosses from the top down when possible. Most of the patterns I've seen for the Pure Drive (both one and two piece) have you string X's starting from the throat. I can understand the one piece if the mains end at the throat (esp if Babolat ok's it) but I can't understand why you would string bottom up in a two piece like the link below. Any thoughts.

i made the mistake of stringing one of my pure drives throat to head and it developed a crack at 10 o'clock from the pressure of stringing "up" the frame. luckily it wasn't used much and babolat took the frame back under warranty.

after that i never, ever string from the throat upwards - regardless if the mfg says it's ok to do.

Did you string it as a one piece or two? What tension, string, type of machine?

i cracked the frame by doing one piece, 60 lbs, wilson nxt, on a gamma progression drop weight. now i use either 2 piece or i do an AWL pattern so I can use one piece and start the crosses at the top of the frame
