Does anyone else have problems with this? When I'm chasing down a hard to reach tennis ball and stop suddenly, my toe hits the front of my shoe. I always come back from tennis with the underside of my big toenails turning purple. Is there any remedy for this? Am I wearing the right shoes?

Could be the shoes. Years ago, I bought a pair of Adidas, mainly because they looked cool, and experienced the same problem whenever I wore those particular shoes. It was very painful and annoying. I ditched those shoes for a less-cool looking but more supportive model and from that time forward have never suffered a stubbed toe on court. Try a different pair of shoes.

Try getting a shoe that holds you a bit tighter on the middle of your foot, or tighten up your laces. I find I stub my toes on shoes that don't have a good toe bend.
