Never had a problem with hamstring or groins. All the sudden last Weds night I felt something in the right one scrambling to chose down a hard shot in singles. Continued to play but it hampered my movement. Then on Sat. again playing singles, again scrambling to retrieve a shot, felt the same thing in the left hamstring, back of thigh/groin area. Never had this before now both in the same week and the soreness is still there. Maybe it's the reality of playing hard 4.5 singles in mid 40s on very dry har tru. Or maybe I didn't warm up enough, pretty much got there late and rushed into the match with a rush warmup.

    Any advices are welcome. Thanks.

How uncomfortable are you when you're just doing normal everyday routine stuff/not playing?

The more uncomfortable you are at non-active stuff, the more likely it could be piriformis syndrome/sciatica.

I can't play without stretching for 20 minutes. I rushed once and injured my calf and couldn't play for months. Not worth it.

My hamstrings and groin went when I became weak in my core...I also had lower back pain. You can have strong abs and still have a weak core....as I did - 6 pack.

If it becomes chronic, Pilates should fix your problems. It took me 4 years, two torn hamstrings and a gazillion groin strains and countless doctors....not one was able to figure out my problems. Body movement specialist nailed it in 10 minutes of watching me.

That was precisely my problem when I had a lower back spasm. It knocked me out for a month or so.
