Is that her name? Wow....I feel like such a doofus. I keep calling her "babe" and she keeps calling me "poppy".

Hopefully we can hang again and continue our trend of making fun of Eastern-block females that talk like Herman Munster.

Glad you are having such a good time. It is a really nice tournament and it has gotten better every year I've gone. I usually make a trip with my tennis girlfriends and we have always had a ton of fun there.

I don't know how you're managing the entire week! We're headed home now and I'm bone tired, sunburned, and blistered from just a day and a half! I would totally do the entire week next year if I could, though. I'm so glad you're having an amazing time. Please post whenever you get a chance. Are you a Kirilenko fan? I sat across from her at breakfast today.

I had breakfast with Janowicz today. What a fun way to end our little trip. Full disclosure: he didn't know we were dining together but it was pretty obvious to me we were together :) I was very proud of myself when I realized I wasn't compelled to bother the players at the hotel. I'm so easily starstruck I wasn't sure how I'd handle situations like that.

Tip for you guys from another thread by a Babolat rep:

If anyone is at Cincy today (Thursday), stop by the Fast Serve Cage today at 3 PM. I'll be there and you can watch Jack Sock hit some big serves.

I was having a great time tonight until half way through the Nadal match when a 300+ pound lady sat in the seat next to me. Her legs and upper body was squishing me so bad I got up at the end of the 2nd set and left.

Honestly she might have been closer to 400 pounds. I know this sounds mean but she couldn't FIT IN THE SEAT.

Waste of my $90 (took my son).

Tip for anyone trying to work in a trip to kings island with this tournament: do tennis first, then kings island. The rollercoasters are kind of whiplashy, which doesn't mix well with watching tennis matches.

Wow. That sucks. Crowded match, otherwise you could have just taken an empty elsewhere. :(

That is a bummer. It was cozy when there were average-sized people in the seats right next to us so I can't imagine having to squeeze in next to someone significantly overweight. With the obesity problems in our country, one of these days they'll have to start putting weight limits on seats and provide special over-size seating for an extra charge.

One of my favorite matches this tournament was Kirilenko vs Tatishvili on court 9. Tatishvili is low ranked due to inconsistency, but this day she was playing out of her mind and Kirilenko dug deep managed to win. Lots of blazing winners It was a real barnburner! People were pretty blown away. Court 9 is awesome!

Glad you got to have so many celebrity sightings!

Omg yesterday was so hot. My seats are in direct sun and I had to go sit out the first set of rafa match in the shade (lady next to me from Texas had to sit out last set of Isner and watch it onscreen outside due to heat exhaustion ..she has heat rash from day before). Regular attendees tell us it's been the best weather ever  it's nice when a cloud crosses the sun, but it's short lived. I guess it can get that hot on my front porch on a really hot sunny afternoon, but I stay the hell off my porch when it's like that! :)

Monday was hot and humid, Wednesday was fall like with high in the upper 70's and cool at night (we had to wear sweatshirts!)

2011 was the best weather ever, it was about 80 degrees and sunny every day with low humidity.....Just FYI

My lips got burned Wednesday! I plan to go every year now, and I'm already dreading a more typical 90+ degree week.

This was the best vacation I had in years (granted, the last few years have been particularly rough, but I think I would feel this way anyway). It would be wonderful to live nearby and just catch parts of the tournament, but I'm glad I did the whole thing.

As far as vacations go, the first few days were SO packed that it pushed everything out of my mind completely! Didn't even really catch my breath until quarterfinals. So, not a relaxing vacation (which is fine because I relax plenty at home), more like a forget about it all vacation. We were so exhausted we had some serious laughing fits, got to see almost all of our faves, got the one autograph I cared about, managed not to look like a total ***** on TV, and even got some rollercoasters and water slides in (my coworkers were freaking out on the pics if Kings Island...we don't have anything like that here). Also really glad I did the whole thing because, as I feared, some of my faves had early exits.

Anyway, I would highly recommend this tournament. The only negative, which is understandable, would be that it seems like the players are all tired from Canada and saving themselves for the USO and not performing at peak level. So you may not get to see an epic, classic match, but you will get to see everyone, and up so close that you will find out some pretty interesting things that you wouldn't see on TV. Thanks everyone for your great suggestions!

    Some pics from Cincy:
GHOATing with Elena Vesnina after her V.Williams match (Elena was SO nice-she even asked if the picture was OK before she walked away); Andy Murray signing for the wife; BG and Tommy Haas @ Corona Beach Bar
