Undoubtedly the best one handed backhand in the game at the moment. Can be rather inaccurate at times, but if he on form and ripping that thing with confidence (i.e., AO 2013 vs. Novak Djokovic), nothing can rival it. I'd say it's up there as one of the most effective shots in tennis (ranks alongside Nadal's forehand and Federer's peak forehand).

Gasquet is more precise and reliable with his backhand than Stan is because he doesn't hit it with as much depth nor penetration, which you accurately pointed out. If Stan had Richard's accuracy and efficiency, he'd have the most dangerous shot on tour.

Almagro's backhand deserves to be in this conversation... it can be quite violent at times and was pretty amazing against Ferrer at the Aussie Open earlier this year (aside from the mental meltdown).

I still think Gasquet has the better stroke. He can do anything on his backhand. It's pretty amazing.

Agreed. I think when Gasquet gets time, he can hit sharper angles than Wawrinka with his backhand.

Meh, yeah that backhand winner was pretty good but if we're going to show highlights then obviously no one can beat Federer:

This highlight reel is one of the main culprits of Federer Backhand Inflation. His backhand is not as good as this one week of competition would have us believe. It is a good backhand, it has served him well, and he defends it better than most; however it is hardly a great single handed backhand.

Guys like Gasquet, Almagro, Haas, and Wawrinka pay their bills with their backhand, rather than in spite of it.

I did that yesterday but I think it was bit lucky. I wish we practice this kind of difficult shots in team practice or drills. I don't know why club pros that run team tennis doesn't do more of these difficult shot drills.

I would say Gasquet, Wawrinka, Kholscriber, Almagro & Haas

Kholscriber and almagro backhands are no good. they don't work on fast courts.
