I went and watched the Boys18 final between Carlos Bermudez and Billy Pecor and WOW can these guys play. Bermudez has a huge serve (looked to be consistently around 120-125 mph) and both players could rip the cover off the ball on the forehand side. There seemed to be a little bad blood brewing in the 3rd set and some line judges were called over, lol. Overall it was an entertaining match to watch - not a lot of long points but the quality of play was high. Does anyone know more about these 2 players? It seems like both would be a shoe-in for a #1 or #2 singles spot on any D1 college team. I don't follow junior tennis very closely (or regularly) but these guys hardly even seem to fall into the "junior" category...they have big games already.

Billy Pecor verballed to Notre Dame according to the recruiting websites.

Carlos Bermudez is Dominic Bermudez's younger bro. Dominic won a state title in 2007. Here is a link to a story that is from 2007. The interesting part I found is that he was coached by his father and self taught (He claims he learned tennis from books and TV). His father has no real tennis background. He was selected at 14 to go the USTA training center in Florida where he got his first real coaching.
