    Hey all,

Figure some of you string junkies might enjoy this. The shop I go to is helping me on trying to find a new hybrid set up and we've been trying some very off the wall combos IMO.

The one I tried this week was: RPM Blast mains and Wilson Shock Shield crosses! Used in an IG Instinct MP, it provided extreme comfort and superb playability, at the cost of some of the worst durability I've used in a hybrid in recent memory. If I was playing "professionally" this would probably be the string set up I would switch to, (If not gut/poly) The power, comfort, and spin of this set up was really smooth. Everything was pretty effortless, and it just really spanked the ball with accuracy.

The huge issue of this hybrid was: Durability. RPM mauled the SS in just over 4 hours of practice hitting. The SS had HUGE wear marks at literally 80% of the intersection points before eventually snapping in the middle of the bed at the 5 hour mark. For people who don't mind restringing pretty frequently with a ridiculously expensive hybrid, it's definitely one to try out!

Just figured I'd let you guys know about it, any questions/comments/concerns let me know! :) I hope to test out some new good ones soon!

    Haha hey bud,

This set up was tested in an IG instinct. Lately I've been using the Radical Pro heavily leaded, it was just a bit too much stick for me to handle over a full 3 sets however. I've been really testing the blade BLX 98 for the last week or so, and I love them. Picked up a pair yesterday and I'm on my way to the stringer now with them. I hope I can stick with them as they are right in my wheelhouse spec wise that I can play a full 5 sets with them and not feel completely dead after haha!
