Switch from Head Prestige Mid to Yonex vcore 89

I am demoing the Yonex VCore Tour 89 this weekend. I have been playing with the Head Youtek Prestige Mid for the past 18 months. Nothing wrong with the Mid but the 18 x 20 string pattern seems too dense to me sometimes on a 93 head. How difficult of a switch would it be to go to a 89 head size versus 93. When I stack up the frames together, there is hardly any visual difference. Has anyone recently made the switch? The specs of both rackets seems almost identical. Your reply is appreciated.

The Prestige Mid isn't really a 93. It is an 89.5. Lots of threads on this.

I've been playing with the Head Youtek Prestige Mid since January this year. I love the racquet but all this attention towards the Yonex V-Core Tour 89 has made me a bit curious about the racquet. I've been wanting to try it out but at the moment my only choice is to demo off of TW but I don't think I will be able to test it as much as I want with my busy schedule.

But I would also love to see if anyone who has played with both has some feedback about how the two play in comparison.

Not played with the Yonex but it has reportedly a large sweetspot for its size and is stiffer than the prestige, so its much easier to play with by all accounts if you are good enough, and very few are.

So if you can play a prestige you'll have an easier, not harder, time with the Yonex.

played with both,,,,,IMO...the V core 89 is much better frame...more spin, better for defense shot, easier to move...you don´t need full swing all the time...Im sold my 3 IG Prestige Mid couples months ago,,right now just V core 89....It is a dream stick.....bravo Yonex

Comments like these makes me want to try the v core 89 even more now. I think I will go out and demo it soon.

I felt like the IG Prestige Mid was a lot better than the Youtek Prestige Mid. But your comment suggests that the V-Core 89 is superior over all of them.

I'm not looking for an easier or spinnier racquet, so I'd like to know if the vcore tour 89 grabs the ball as effectively as the prestige Yt Ig mid
I've already used a lighter mid with an open string pattern, the dunlop ag100 (and the 4d100) for several years, but the prestige ig mid gives me much more control and confidence
so, considering the specs of the vcore tour, I can undestand why people looking for an easier and spinnier racquet, like it, but I suspect it doesn't deliver the same level of control as the prestige mid, with its higher weight and denser string pattern
any feedback about this aspect from people who played with both racquets?

how good can the control be at 21/20? i´m playing my prestige mid with sonic pro at 25, if i lower it to 24 it feels like i lose a bit of control already

I'm not speaking about the control needed by you or me, but about the control both racquets offer with the same set-up

i figured that. just my way to ask you about how you like your set-up, since i´m trying out a few string-variations over the winter season.

I had to lower the strings tension using the prestige mid, mostly because it's the only way I found to gain confort using the same poly string without a vibration dampener (that bothers me on this racquet)
However, I like this set-up. Surely, there are better poly strings, but I want to finish the 2 reels I bought, before looking for something else

about the level of control the V core tour 89 is fantastic....but always you need demo before.

I finally returned the VCore after demoing it for 4 sessions within a week. I really like it and would like to make Yonex my choice but I'm not in a good financial position to get one or two for $189 per racket. I will wait for a year when the prices will likely come down and then buy a pair.

A lot of power first hit, but now love it...if somebody is looking for more power for this V core 89, try iso speed classic ..
