Technically could you put stringsavers on an MP to play like a MID?

Could you, if you wanted to, put stringsavers around the head of the racket perhaps an inch or two in, making it play like that was the size of the head? Since the control from small heads comes from the limited string deflection, the string savers would take relatively that same effect, except even if you hit outside for your pseudo-racket-head it would still hit string/frame for added forgiveness. Sure, the bed would still deflect, but the strings wouldn't move independently to each other, which is also a factor. Does this all sound possible?

String Savers limit the side to side movement of the strings across each other, the strings still deflect. Putting String Savers around the perimeter of the string bed would not make it play like a mid.
