I'm buying a reel of these for a full job in my head extreme pros (16x19).
    I play 14-18 hours a week.

I don't know if the durability is worth the thicker gauge.

I have played with both. I was breaking the 16 every 1.5 - 2 hours, so I decided to switch to the 15. The 15 is WAY more durable, I was getting frusturated because it took too long to break! There is an obvious trade off in feel, so it's up to you to decide what's more important. I love Tecnifibre syn gut - easily the best syn gut for the price.

I used the tecnifibre synthetic gut 15L in a hybrid set up and even when using it on clay it did not break, eventually had to get it restrung after a month as it was like a trampoline. That was on a 16x19 racket so guage thickness was not so much of a problem but I think on a denser string pattern that it might be more of an issue.
