Tell me about my Slazenger Challenge (Pics)

A little while ago I made a thread asking about this stick but never bothered to post pictures. I figured this new section would be a good place to do it properly.

I found this thing lying around in my house. The frame only says Slazenger Challenge, but the cover says Slazenger Challenge White. Can anyone tell me more about this stick?

It doesn't seem like anything too special, though I wouldn't mind being wrong there :)

I'm thinking of bringing it to the courts on the weekend, laying down some old-school domination.

That's a beautiful racquet, no doubt about it. I have several Challenges (one made in New Zealand even) and they are all different. Possibly more variation here than in any other frame.

Wow, NZ, England (noticed one of yours was made there) and then mine from good old Taiwan

That's quite the range of locations. I'm guessing that various incarnations of the Challenge line were around for a long time. Did they ever make any in Australia?

Oh, and do you have any idea when mine might have been made?

Yes, they were made in Australia too - probably several incarnations. Some were even made in Australia and finished off in England.

They started making the Challenge in 1956 and continued over a period of 20 years or more.

If yours doesn't say where it was made, it would be an English model.

Mine's made in Taiwan. I suppose it would be one of the much later models.

Does it say "Designed in Australia, made in Taiwan"? I have one one like that.

It certainly does. "Designed in Australia and made in Taiwan to Slazenger specifications for precise balance and performance"
